Not everyone’s cup of tea. But Helmut Newton was a great photographer, with a style that was unmatched in its day. The exhibition displays his best known works, as well as older family photos and possessions. His wife’s work is also part of the overall exhibition. Which is an interesting addition. If you have an interest in photography. I’d say it’s well worth visiting.
Recommended to any lover of photography, fashion and art in general. You might have seen photos by Helmut Newton in magazines or ads but it is a different experience to see them in high quality prints.
Great place! A must have for any photography fan!
The exhibition displays is Helmut Newton best known works.
Jane ,his wife’s work is also part of the overall exhibition. If you have an interest in photography, I would say it is well worth visiting.
They do NOT mention on the website that the first floor is closed. This is the floor with the pictures. Why you want to go to the museum. So you travel here for 45 minutes spending money and not doing some other great thing in Berlin and then they tell you. Sorry just the ground floor open. Terrible customer experience !!!!
Always try to visit, when in Berlin.
For Helmut Newton's fans, this is a place for rediscovering his works, time after time.
Also there you can see not only Mr. Newton's photography and personal items, but interesting expositions of guest-authors, more or less connected to his life, work or places of living, to expand your experience.
Plus, there is a good photo book and souvenirs shop, for your "private collection", but be careful, the Sumo book is too heavy for most airlines' cabin baggage! 😊
A must visit when in Berlin. Great exhibit and multiple galleries. I was told off for having a handbag by security although they didn't mention at reception that this was not allowed.
Great museum of Helmut Newton and Alice Springs with several galleries and guest exhibition. Portraits, celebrities, life... spectacular and intriguing.
